[Background]

[Personality] First off, one would notice that this man does not respond to people in any way less than emotionless. He appears to be devoid of it and responds matter-of-factually and flat without so much as a reaction when another person questions him on something he does not wish to answer. He will ignore questions given to him and continue with the main subject of the conversation as if what he is being told is unnecessary. This will likely turn others off as the majority of the characters in the game either tell him to lighten up or, in the case of Gabe Cunningham, attempt to joke around with him as the man did when he went to shake his hand then pulled it away quickly. Eventually this sort of treatment does appear to wear on the doctor in a more positive way even if his emotional changes are a bit too subtle to notice.

His reactions appear to be, at least by the conversations later on, to reflect the guilt he feels over what he was placed into prison in the first place for: The Cumberland Incident. Though he does not remember what happened or who he even is to a degree, he still takes on the overwhelming anguish of what happened. He feels remorse for those he apparently, according to others that come to know him, did not actually have a hand in killing. He takes this pain onto himself as he does when he may not be able to save a patient. This likely reflects his guilt for the bombing that he was found guilty and placed in prison for life over. He will not remain in the room with his patients for reasons explained further on.

Though he is often calm in a crisis, or at least at first glance, he is very modest about what he does and does not take too much credit for what he does. He is often teased by the rest of the staff in some form due to this. It was bewildering to those that would become his colleagues that not even a room provided for him at the hospital instead of returning to his cell was enough to get even a thank you out of him. He is bothered by it on some level that reflects his guilt over The Cumberland Incident despite his ultimate innocence from the crime. His guilt is also reflected in the way he accepts punishment for what they assume he has done. Maria Torres, a paramedic he came to know on a less negative way, pushed him up against the wall and demanded to know why he would go against his oath as a doctor.

As he does not remember what happened, his remorse is obvious even if he does not state that outright. He has a moment later where he is standing in a room with her and does not say a word. This silence prompts Maria to question whether or not he really was guilty and all he can do is remain silent. His reluctance to remain behind with a patient after he finished operating and his silence when asked about anything surrounding the bombing means he does not feel he has the right to say if he did so or not. He never does outright say he was the one behind it, but he does not deny that he was tried for that incident. Perhaps it is easier for him to accept the blame and work towards helping people than to say that he was not responsible. His reasoning for denying or not denying is something that is not answered with much other than his obvious guilt and silence. He is likely ashamed that he lost his memory of the incident at all.

It is extremely rare for him to smile and he only did so at the very ending of his story arc. It was so small that it was hardly noticeable and he only did so in his prison cell with nobody there to see it. The likelihood of him smiling here will depend on circumstances. He will be more inclined to do so however since he is out of prison and no longer depending on surgical procedures to reduce his life sentence. He will not make much of a fuss over this, as it would not be important here, and try to keep to himself as small talk is not his forte. The kind of people that would get through to him the quickest would be those that will not allow him to keep to himself. Though he will be offering his services, he will remain as reserved as usual.

The way he responds, or a lack of response, could very well stem from how he was treated as a child. His parents did not care for him and even stated that they assumed the boy would be capable of killing one day. Even if he happens to remember his life with his parents before they died and he was adopted, in the back of his mind the events would still hold some sort of impact. He is not a resentful person and does not appear to hold a grudge with anybody. He simply takes what is being given to him in the form of physical or verbal abuse and goes on as if it never occurred though he will revisit this later on with Maria after she was so angry with him when realizing who he was. His personality brightened quite slowly over the course of the game and was the reason behind him obviously desiring to apologize or respond in some way beyond silence.

He was kept away from all contact with anybody when he was in prison in a freezing cell that was meant to keep him less hostile and he was cut off from being able to see. As it was silent in the room, he was also deprived of listening to anything at even the level of music or the occasional sounds of a door opening and closing. Though he has been out of his cell before he was pulled into Somarium, he is still recovering from this and slowly acclimating himself to everything. As much as he has gained, there is still much for him to relearn and be able to handle like any other person would that has not gone through the experiences he did.

[Abilities] He is a very skilled surgeon. Judging from the game, he is able to isolate and get rid of viruses in the body, is able to set bones, and remove glass from a heart. Other than his competency with medicine, he has no special abilities when it comes to enhancing anything physically or mentally. If he was to be caught in the middle of a fight, he would lose and would likely be injured if he did not run away first.

Not sure there is much else to say about it except that, once again, he is a master surgeon and knows many procedures.

[Other important stuff] Um....no? o_o He has amnesia, so likely the memories he does not have will come back to him as they did later in the game.

[Sample post]
[First Person]

- If I offered to save your soul for a price, would you go with it and why?: If it is my time to die then I would accept that. Everybody dies. The only way to prolong a life is if it is truly not the end. Saving my soul would require me to go beyond what is fated. (Though even that...even that is something I cannot stand to think of...not being able to save a life....)

- Your country is in the middle of a war. What do you think of it? Do you support it or try to solve it yourself by going on an epic quest? Explain: I do not support war though it might be necessary to achieve an end. I do not like to imagine how many people will be dying...how many of them I will not be able to save.

- You are on the verge of death. You know there is no way to survive and there's no coming back. Choose any of the following to answer: What is your last wish? Your last regret? Last thoughts? How do you feel? Who is the last person you think of other than your killer?: I regret not being able to finish what was expected of me...to work off the sentence I was given. The dead deserve to be avenged in some way. If I could live just a little bit longer, I could save just a few more lives...

- Murder. What is your opinion?: ...Murder is, of course, wrong. Nobody has the right to take the life of another. it does happen and there is often nothing to be done. Nobody can turn back time no matter how much they may want to.

- Oh no! Someone tripped and injured themselves right in front of you! What do you do?: I would immediately determine what the problem is and, if I should have a first aid kit, assist as such as I can. The most important part is being able to determine whether they require a visit to the emergency room.

- You are told that this is a dream world, but you must go deeper. What are your first thoughts?: I...am not certain how deeply I wish to go inside of my own mind. I am...afraid of what I might find there. It might be best to remain ignorant of the past. I am certain of this...

[Third Person]
He stared at the ceiling of his room, still unable to wrap his mind around the fact that he was no longer in prison. Most of the time it was not quiet enough for him. Having had his senses mostly cut off there left him unable to remain rested when there was even the slightest of noises. He had to be near exhaustion to be able to sleep and often he would dream of things he could not recall. There were things in his past that he was no longer privy to after having forgotten them. Whatever the reason was for that amnesia must be reason enough for them to be suppressed. Things had a way of changing people. Perhaps it was meant to be that he would suffer without the complete memory of what happened. He wanted to believe he would do no such thing. As a doctor, why would he?

What if he really was the reason all of those people died? What if he put aside the oath that doctors took and extinguished those lives? For what reason would he want to? Even if it was an accident....even if it was, how could he learn to survive that? That was pointless though, wasn't it? It was pointless to regret a past he could no longer remember. He suffered within the walls of that prison and redeemed himself through his work. To be taken away from that...how was he to be able to accept that? Shaking his head, he sat up on his bed and stood up to go to his window. Another restless night. Somehow he managed not to mess things up when he was at his limits and beyond. It was likely he was getting just enough, but he knew that was just an excuse.

As a doctor...maybe that was a bit hypocritical. He imagined any of the others here in his profession would say the same thing. To think that other people worried about him was sometimes difficult though it was less so now. There was still an apprehension he had with being comfortable around everybody. He wanted to be able to share something with them. That they still accepted him....coming to accept him even knowing what he was in prison for in the first place...was something he was ultimately grateful for. Expressing such gratefulness...now that was something he was not entirely ready to speak of as much as was deserved.

"...Maybe...I should try to sleep."

[Why do you want to play this character in Somarium?] Right now, it is to join the Trauma Center cast. I am also intrigued to see if I will be a good fit here or not.
[Which rule was your favorite and why?] I want to say the be kind to other players one...but I think I can appreciate more the stay in character rule. Everybody has their own way of playing off of canon and I more than respect that. When somebody goes WAY out there without backing it up and changing the character beyond what they even are, it becomes difficult to take the other person seriously.
[Where did you hear about Somarium?] Through the Trauma Center cast mainly
[Any questions?] Not really .-. He has no special abilities, so there is nothing to question for me.
